Jersey fabric is not actually woven on a loom, It is a knitted fabric in which the yarns are interwoven with needles, hooks or knitting machines. The characteristic of this fabric is that it has natural stretch no matter what yarn is used.

Knitted fabrics can be produced using yarns of different thicknesses. Fabrics produced from roving and spun yarns have different weights and characteristics, as well as different uses and applications.

What materials can be used to make knitted fabrics?

1.Cotton. Knitted fabrics woven from cotton fibers are widely used in T-shirts, pajamas, sweatshirts, dresses and bedding.etc.

2. Wool. It can be used to make sweaters, sweatshirts, winter clothes and baby clothes, etc. Knitted fabrics made from wool have the same properties as cotton, but it is better suited for colder climates.

3. Viscose fiber. The knitted fabric made from viscose fiber looks like silk and drapes well. It is mainly used for making women's clothing.

4.Polyester and polyamide. Knitted fabrics made from these materials are brightly colored and stretchy, especially if a certain amount of elastane is used. This knitted fabric is suitable for making all types of sportswear, swimwear, underwear and sweatshirts etc.
