Chambray is a kind of yarn-dyed fabric, it is woven from dyed warp (weft) and undyed weft (warp) yarns. The warp and weft yarns are mostly cotton yarns from 16S to 32S.The chambray fabric itself is smooth and soft.It is an economical clothing material.

The yarn raw materials of chambray are mostly cotton fibers, but a small number of yarn raw materials use other fibers such as flax and silk. The fabrics woven from these raw materials can bring a good wearing experience for customers.

The organizational structure of chambray is mainly plain weave, but some special chambray is twill weave. The ordinary chambray is a medium-thin fabric, but some chambrays are thicker, and its feel is relatively stiff.

Chambray became popular after World War II. At the time, chambray workwear or shirts were commonly worn by farmers, workers and sailors. Today, chambray is no longer a yarn-dyed fabric with a roving count. They can have different yarn count combinations, variable weaving processes and novel design concepts, which can greatly expand the use of chambray.
