What are the characteristics of jacquard fabric?

May 18, 2023

Jacquard is a concave-convex pattern made of interlaced warp and weft threads.

The jacquard fabric is beautiful and has a three-dimensional effect, it can weave different patterns according to different fabric base fabrics, forming different color contrasts between light and dark. Visually, there will be different shades of color, and the raised color will be heavier, but it is only compared to the fabric of the same color. There is also a kind of fabric itself, and the pattern is woven on it.

There are two types of jacquard technology: large jacquard and small jacquard. Large jacquard is a pattern woven by hundreds or thousands of warp and weft yarns, which can be plain weave or satin weave. Small jacquard pattern uses two or more weave changes to form it, it is generally presenting a geometric plain weave/twill weave flower.

The simple distinction is that large jacquard is mostly flower-like patterns, while small jacquard is mostly simple geometric patterns such as stripes or grids.
