Down cotton is neither down nor cotton, but a chemically synthesized material produced by special processes using ultra-fine fibers of different specifications, because its texture is similar to down, it is called down cotton or silk wool. So, what are the advantages and disadvantages of down cotton?
Advantages of down cotton:
1. Down cotton has the advantages of good elasticity, high fluffiness, non-silk permeability, strong compression resistance, and is less prone to deformation and clumping.
2. Down cotton also has the characteristics of light texture, strong tensile performance, certain elasticity, good washing performance, insect resistance, moisture resistance, and strong resistance to mold.
3. The thermal insulation performance of down cotton is extremely strong, with a thermal insulation rate more than twice that of cotton fiber, and its service life can even reach three times that of cotton fiber.
Disadvantages of down cotton:
1. Down cotton has very high insulation performance, but its breathability is relatively poor.
2. Although down cotton can be washed, its water resistance is very poor. Moreover, washing down cotton is relatively troublesome, it is necessary to use hand washing instead of dry cleaning or machine washing.
