Specification of non-woven fabric
Jun 24, 2024
The specifications of non-woven fabrics mainly include weight, thickness, width, and length.
Weight: The weight of non-woven fabrics is usually measured in units of weight per square meter (gsm), ranging from 10gsm to 320gsm. Non-woven fabrics with small weight are thin, have relatively large pore sizes, and have lower tensile strength. The non-woven fabric with higher weight has a thicker thickness and higher tensile strength.
Thickness: The thickness range of non-woven fabric is from 0.09mm to 1.2mm, and the specific thickness depends on the purpose and needs of the non-woven fabric. Ultra-thin non-woven fabric with a thickness of less than 0.02mm is mainly used in high-end cosmetics, medical supplies and other fields. Thin non-woven fabric with a thickness between 0.025-0.055mm is mainly used in the fields of clothing lining, shoe materials, filter materials, etc. The thickness of medium-sized non-woven fabric ranges from 0.055 to 0.25mm, it is mainly used in packaging materials, home textiles, automotive interior materials and other fields. Thick non-woven fabric with a thickness between 0.25-1mm is mainly used in the fields of building waterproofing materials, furniture, mattresses, etc. Ultra thick non-woven fabric with a thickness of over 1mm is mainly used in industrial filtration materials, civil engineering protective materials, and other fields.
Width and length: The width of non-woven fabrics is usually 3.2m, 1.6m, 1.44m, and 1.32m, which are commonly used amplitudes. The length can be rolled into larger rolls, reaching 100 meters or more. For specific purposes such as handbags, the specifications and sizes of non-woven fabrics may vary, from small and exquisite gift bags to large handbags used for supermarket shopping or clothing.
In addition, the physical properties of non-woven fabrics such as tensile strength, elongation at break, and penetration index are also important parameters of specifications, which determine the application effectiveness of non-woven fabrics in different industries.
