Spandex covered yarn

Spandex covered yarn is an elastic yarn formed by the spandex yarn as the core, and wrapping the elongated spandex yarn with the filament or short fiber yarn in a spiral manner.
Classification
1. According to the number of covering layers, it can be divided into single covering yarn and double covering yarn. Among them, nylon spandex and polyester spandex are mostly covered in a single covering method.
2. According to different equipment, it can be divided into two types: mechanical covered yarn and air covered yarn.
Features
1. Air covered yarn. It is a yarn in which outsourcing fiber filaments and spandex yarns are drafted through a certain type of nozzle at the same time, and are regularly sprayed by highly compressed air to form rhythmic network points. Its fabric is soft and smooth to the touch.
2. Mechanical covered yarn. It continuously rotates the outer fiber filaments and winds them on the core yarn spandex with a constant speed. The main feature of the fabric is flat and crisp.
Air covered yarn and mechanical covered yarn have their own advantages and disadvantages in weaving. The air covered yarn generally needs sizing when warping on the air-jet loom, otherwise the fabric is easy to fluff and break, but it can be used directly after beating up. In terms of cost alone, the production capacity of air covered yarn is much higher than mechanical covered yarn, and the price is lower than mechanical covered yarn, which is convenient for reducing the cost of downstream weaving mills. Mechanical covered yarn does not expose the core filament, except for uneven twist, it is not easy to produce quality problems during spinning and weaving, but the output is low, so the price is higher than air covered yarn of the same specification.
Application range
Spandex covered yarn is mainly used in weaving, elastic denim, webbing, socks, underwear, lace and sporting goods, etc.
