More than 500 years ago, the Italian navigator Columbus discovered the New World. The sails used by sailing ships at that time were made of a very tough and practical rough cloth. This rough fabric originated in NIMES, a small town in France, so it was named "Serge De Nimes" in French, and was then referred to as DENIM.

Three hundred and sixty years later, Levi Strauss, a Jewish businessman in the United States, introduced a kind of rough canvas into the United States, thus creating a historical page for jeans and establishing a mythical kingdom of denim culture.

The mythical kingdom of Levi's cowboys began in San Francisco, USA. The rough canvas originally used to make tents was used to make the first LeviS jeans for miners at that time, a kind of tough and durable work clothes, because it was very suitable for the needs of workers. It quickly gained popularity, and as a result, it sparked a series of evolutions. The jeans were originally brown, but later changed to denim, a dark blue twill fabric.

Denim is mainly made of cotton, and it has also developed a variety of raw material structures, including cotton, wool, silk, and hemp natural fibers blended, as well as blended with chemical fibers, as well as elastic yarns, twisted yarns, fancy yarns, etc. as raw materials. The higher the content of spandex yarn, the greater the elasticity. Yarn counts have various specifications such as 7*7, 7*6, 7*8, 10*7, etc. The organization structure is generally twill (2/1, 3/1, 1/3), broken twill, and the radial tightness is greater than Weft.

The color of denim has developed from vulcanized, indigo to light blue, black, white, colored, etc.

There are many finishing processes for denim, which is an important part of developing denim series. The main ones are: enzymes, stone grinding, sandblasting, cat whiskers, silicone oil, bleaching, color register, snow washing.
