What Is Three Proof Fabric?

Dec 18, 2023

Three proof fabric refers to ordinary fabrics that have undergone special surface treatment, usually using carbon fluorine waterproofing agents to plate on surface with an air resistant protective film, thereby achieving waterproof, oil resistant, and stain resistant functions. Normally, after multiple washes, the coating of a good three proof fabric still performs well, oil and water are difficult to penetrate into the inner layer of the fibers, thus maintaining the dryness of the fabric. And compared with ordinary fabrics, the three proof fabric has better appearance quality and is easy to manage.

The most famous three proof fabric is Teflon developed by DuPont in the United States, which has:

1. Outstanding oil repellency: Excellent protective effect, preventing oil repellent stains from penetrating into the interior of the fabric. The fabric maintains a clean appearance for long time, thereby reducing the number of necessary washes.

2. Superior water repellency: Outstanding anti rain effect and water repellent soluble dirt contamination.

3. Significant anti dry and stain properties: Dust and dry stains are easy to shake off or brush off, keeping the fabric clean and reducing washing frequency.

4. Excellent washable resistance: After multiple washes, and then ironing or heat treatment to restore its efficient protective properties.

5. Not affecting breathability: comfortable to wear.
